The thrilling horror
Jul. 17th, 2009 | 08:41 pm
Well, where do I begin? My folks went out to dinner with a colleague. Yes, there are colleagues in the Grass Technician field. Apparently they went to where Ashlea works. They got me shrimp, telling her (I think) it was for me. Apparently she told them to tell me hi and she wants more s'more brownies. Which I thought about making for the Rachael, the preacher's daughter. Or mississippi mud cake. . . . or. . . i'm hungry for desserts.
so anyway, onto MORE IMPORTANT issues. NEW HORROR MOVIE that looks promising. The Collector. A man breaks into a home to steal something, but ends up hearing someone scream. Some killer is inside the house already setting traps to keep the women from escaping. It looked good, so now the burglar is their only hope. Kind of ironic.
another good looking movie is Orphan. Some decietful little girl moves in with a family and causes trouble. I dunno which to watch. maybe both!

Return to Eureka!
Jul. 12th, 2009 | 03:57 pm
Well, what a wonderful weekend it has been! I should have posted this Friday night, but I was terribly distracted by Warehouse 13! I can't decide if it's a great show, but I did enjoy it. I mean, Lattimer LOVES cookies, so what's not to like about him? I love cookies too. anyway, that came on after Eureka!!!! Eureka is LOVE! I tell you. It just doesn't seem right to be without Nathan Stark (Ed Quinn), but I guess it had to be done. I'm impatiently waiting for Jamie Ray Newman as Tess Fontana, I believe. It's how she is billed on IMDB.com.
I also bought and watched Knowing with Nicholas Cage, whom I'm not a big fan of. The movie was OK. I enjoyed the ending. . . does that make me weird? ***SPOILERS*** ( Spoiler ) < /spoiler>
I am currently watching The Unborn, which is interesting. My brother and his girlfriend saw it, and they said it sucked. My brother is either scared of horror films or tired of watching them. I told him to watch Drag Me to Hell, which is still my TOP ranking horror film EVER!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I gotta play this Indiana Jones game at some point. Maybe I'll get to it later.
Failure to Launch is on. . . Zooey Deschanel will most likely keep me distracted for a little while, until i get tired of Sarah Jessica Parker. blah.

The Fourth of July
Jul. 4th, 2009 | 06:29 pm
Brandon: Ya'll coming to Beth's for the 4th?
Mom: There's gonna be like 20 people there!
Me: I know one person who won't be. ME!
Brandon: You're not going?
Me: I don't know these people.
Mom: The Grandparents will be there. They're funny.
Me: I don't care.
Brandon: Ashlea will be there.
Me: I'll go!
Yeah, how Firefly of us.
Needless to say, I went. I woke up later than I wanted to this morning. We had to be there at 12 or 12:30 and I slept til 10:30. I had to get up and shower and shave. THEN I had to make my S'more brownies! They were the talk to the gathering. *smug* I know this one young girl loved them and talked her dad into eating them because they were "gooey" and "to die/kill for." Not to mention that ASHLEA liked them!! I'm quite the baker. Though, it was honestly easy. I didn't do it from scratch. I simply bought brownie mix and made them, then added graham crackers, milk chocolate bars and marshmallows to the top. Perfection. I have yet to make a dessert that is not good. I love baking.
I also went fishing with my brother. I'm not big on the whole subject of hunting and fishing, but fishing I could get into. It is sort of harmless. I mean, at least we're not killing these animals, since my bro is allergic to and does not eat fish. So we "catch n' release" them. I caught one. HE caught like 10. . .
I need more movies. I went to Wal-Mart later than usual just to grab some movies. I wanted the Alien Trilogy, but ended up getting something else. I got Rob Zombie's Halloween. I also picked up Eureka Season 3.0. If I could afford it, I'd grab every movie I want to see. Vinnie Jones is in Legend of the Bog, which online is more than the store price. So many more I'd love to pick up off the $10 and $13 rack. Also some novels, like James Rollins' The Doomsday Key, as well as Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

For Love of Movies. . .
Jun. 6th, 2009 | 09:31 pm
So, the Blockbuster in my town is closing shop and selling everything. So are other Blockbusters in other cities. Anyhoo, I just had to see if they had anything worth buying. I might go back tomorrow, since its the last day for the sale.
I HAD to get the classical Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. Though, it wasn't my first choice. The FIRST DVD I picked up was the one I intended on getting. . . Feast. I had seen it, I had loved it, and I had bought the two sequels. Why not get the first!? And I have House of the Dead, so when I spotted Ed Quinn's House of the Dead 2, I grabbed it! I had been wanting to see Resident Evil: Degeneration for some time, since I like the series. I grabbed it up too. I also got Pulse, which the sequel has Jamie Bamber in it. So if this is worth it, I might get Pulse 2. And lastly, I got Sunshine, because its an end of the world kind of thriller. Where you hope the world ends, cuz people are idiots. They ranged anywhere from $9.99 to 5.99, which I thought was decent. So many good movies they had too. Lots of classics. Too bad I didn't spot Casablanca, or Harvey.
Anyone have any suggestions for movies? I'm thinking of going back to see what's left, cuz well, movies. . . what other reason do ya need?
There were so many movies that I loved there. The Alien movies. Predator 1 & 2. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, the one with Dennis Hopper and the legendary Bill Moseley (better known as Luigi Largo from Repo! The Genetic Opera and Otis B. Driftwood in House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects). Any Bill Moseley movie is worth seeing. Oh, there was also Taxi Driver. Classic De Niro
Which reminds me, I finally saw Quantum of Solace. USA has been airing Casino Royale all weekend, so I HAD to see the sequel, but I think Royale is much better. In fact, Royale is on now!
So please, movie recs! I'll see if they have them.

Ghosthouse Underground
Oct. 12th, 2008 | 02:50 pm
I've discovered a NEW collection of horror movies. As if my love for After Dark Horrorfest's 8 Films to Die For weren't enough! Ghosthouse Underground presents a set of eight films. . . hmm, how similar! I took great interest when I saw the commercial for them, but even more so when I noticed Brotherhood of Blood in the selection of titles. It features Victoria Pratt, and a friend of mine,
billy_rose , pointed the movie out to me, due to Vicky's presence.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army & stuff
Jul. 14th, 2008 | 07:26 pm
Yesterday, I was gonna post in the evening about my battle with traveling up to a busy city and seeing a movie. So, I'm a day late. . . sue me.
I saw Hellboy 2, and I loved it. It was hilarious. I recommend it to anyone who is interesting and not sure if they want to see it. I got home and the first one was airing on FX. Lots of favorite parts (BEWARE: spoilers)
anyway, I'm planning on going this weekend to see The Dark Knight. Then I want to see The Mummy 3. . .whatever its called. Something like The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. . . Love the line: "I'd tell you to fasten your seatbelts, but it was too cheap to buy any! Ha ha ha!" It looks more promising than the first two, but I guess its because I like Asian history better. . . and asian women. *ahem*
I'm working on an untitled multi-part (maybe) short story. The plot:
Derrik Masters was sent to prison ten years ago, and today he's on parole for good behavior. Remembering that his wife was to be waiting on the outside for him, he returns home to find it a mess, and her missing. With the help of an old friend who is a private detective, Derrik slowly finds clues pointing to a corrupt cop. However, the evidence takes a turn for the worse, and the ending results are shocking.
Any title suggestions? Anyone?
I can't remember if there's anything else to talk about. Food is the only thing on my mind right now. And looking at the Outback Steakhouse's menu isn't the most brilliant idea ever. . .
Oh, well. Until next time. . . adieu.

Happy Birthday to. . . ME! heh.
Mar. 31st, 2008 | 07:12 pm
Yes. Today is my birthday, but I try not to put it out so much cuz then people feel it necessary to say "Happy birthday" to you. Do I not like it? Well, its never been a big deal for me, but that's because no one ever bothers, or that i don't have friends. I forget which. Anyway, I got this:

Unearthed, Crazy Eights, Nightmare Man, and Lake Dead.
Right now, I'm watching UNEARTHED with Emmanuelle Vaugier. WOO! I might post reviews. . . we'll see. 4 out of 8 isn't bad.
Maybe he's happy its my birthday? I doubt it. He's happy to see us home from work. Just thought I'd catch Carson jumping. He wants attention and to be held. Ok, back to my movie! And there's Emmanuelle Vaugier in a tank top and panties. Both blue. Lovely color. Definitely have to write a review. We'll see.

8 Films to Die For. . . Again. . .
Mar. 15th, 2008 | 08:19 pm
mood:
ecstatic
Well, I'm extremely excited because its that time again. For those who don't remember, last year around the same time, After Dark Horrorfest released its 8 Films to Die For on DVD, and I went insane and bought every last one as a birthday gift for myself. And this year, the Second Annual After Dark Horrorfest is releasing is second 8 Films to Die For on DVD next week. I'll get them for my birthday this year. *happy dance* I enjoyed them last year. This year's movies are interesting, I think.
- Borderland
- Written and directed by Zev Berman, this film centers around Phil (played by Rider Strong from Cabin Fever) and his two college buddies who road-trip down to a Mexican border town to celebrate their college graduation. They run into a cult looking for human sacrifice and their weekend becomes a bloody test of survival.
- Crazy Eights
- After a mutual childhood friend dies, six friends reunite after 20 years and decide to unearth a time capsule they buried. Upon opening the time capsule they find the dead remains of a child, which begins to haunt their everyday life and could lead to their death if they can't uncover the mystery behind the child's death.
- The Deaths of Ian Stone
- Starring Mike Vogel in the title role, along with Christina Cole, Jaime Murray, and Michael Dixon. The films revolves around Ian Stone who is in a constant cycle of dying at night only to wake up with a different life.
- Lake Dead
- Mulberry Street
- A deadly infection breaks out in Manhattan, causing humans to devolve into blood-thirsty rat creatures. Six recently evicted tenants must survive the night and protect their downtown apartment building as the city quickly spirals out of control.
A group of teenagers inherit a motel on a lake, only to uncover a series of dark and frightening family secrets.
- Nightmare Man
- A tormented woman (Ellen) who believes there is a supernatural thing trying to kill her -- her "nightmare man". Her husband and doctors believe she's a paranoid schizophrenic. On the way to psychiatric ward, the Morris' car breaks down. When her husband goes to get gas, Ellen stays behind and is attacked by her mysterious, horrifying enemy, the Nightmare Man. Escaping into the nearby woods, Ellen stumbles upon a country house where two young couples are spending the weekend who are now also in danger. They do not know if the killer is real or just a figment of Ellen's tortured mind nor if the killer is outside or already inside the house. As people start dying, nobody knows whom they can trust.
- Tooth and Nail
- The film, starring Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones, Rider Strong, Robert Carradine, and Rachel Miner, revolves around a group of people in a post-apocalyptic world fight to survive against a band of vicious cannibals.
- Unearthed
- It is written and directed by Matthew Leutwyler and stars Emmanuelle Vaugier from Saw II. A mysterious creature in a New Mexican town is the reason for the disappearances of several townspeople, nature dying, and animals being murdered.

The Emperor is In. . .
Oct. 21st, 2007 | 06:39 pm
Wow, it's been about two weeks since I've bothered with a personal post. I rarely do it anymore. See no purpose in it. Though, I'm sure some are wondering how I'm doing. So. . . Here goes:
After Dark Horrorfest 2007 is on its way!!!!! NOVEMBER 9-18. WOOOOOOOO! SciFi has been running some of the 8 movies to die for from the 2006 Horrorfest, which I have on DVD. Gravedancers, Wicked Little Things, and Dark Ride. Can't wait for the next one.
Bought the Grindhouse movies recently. Death Proof came out a month ago, the ending was the only good part. Planet Terror came out this week, and I bought it Friday. It was good from start to finish, and funny. Michael Beihn was in it. Which really got me interested. Also bought Transformers on DVD.
I'm on another of my weird irregular eating habits again. Been eating about every four hours lately. Over the last two days, lunch was at the same restaurant where they have these plates lunchs: a meat, and three veggies. I liked the chicken breast they only have on Fridays, and then yesterday was country fried steak. Hmmm, with corn, potatoes, and rice. Of course a few hours later on Friday we were at Burger King working, I chowed down again. Then I had supper when I got home. -_- Saturday was the same. Ate while taking a worker home at 5 PM. Then when i got back I had McDonalds, 20 piece nugget is quite filling when one usually eats 10. As for today, I had lunch at about 12-12:30. Snacked most of the day, so I'm ready for dinner now. Gained some pounds as well. I could use it.
Last week, I bought the new Big & Rich CD, awesome!!!! Between Raising Hell and amazing Grace.
The last ten minutes of the Stargate Atlantis episode "Doppleganger" got me interested. I guess it took McKay dying to do so. *shrugs* I haven't been able to get back into until now. I'm looking forward to the next episode, because Jill Wagner is in it! YAY! And also, on SciFi, Odyssey 5 is also a decent show. I didn't catch the recent episode because I think I was busy cooking my dinner.
I have to get SGA Season 3 on DVD as well as NCIS Season 4.
I've enjoyed the past two weeks. Work is slowing up, I'm spending time with the girlfriend,
jargonic_ash . She's awesome. We've had quite a few bumps in the road lately, but we've prevailed, damn it! I hate her bastard uncle. He is controlling and very manipulative. He's rich, so of course he flashes his money about to cover all the bad things he does, like trying to control Ash's future AND contact with me. See? Bastard. OH! I made pretty good friends with her buddy, Audrey. She's cool. I'm integrating into their little "clique" easily. They all love me. *cocky grin* I'm just lovable! Though, I'm not fond of her friend, Sree, though. He seems bitter. He was up for my position, or so he thought. -_- Tries to lie to me about her, but I already know the truths. . . Also, seems to think I don't love her enough or something. *shrugs* He's bitter. Have half a mind to confront him about it. I know he doesn't like me being with her.
Hmm, what else?
AH! Poetry is slowing down. I haven't gotten into the mood to write the rest of "Retreat." *sigh* Interest in RPGs is also diminishing. My short story The Stain got the attention of an independent filmmaker who wants to turn it into a short film. YAY! I hope she does. I'd love to see it.
That covers everything, I do believe. Time to eat, AGAIN!

Pieces of the Puzzle of Life
Aug. 19th, 2007 | 09:24 pm
mood:
contemplative
I've had a pretty good day. Slept well. I plan on another night of rest tonight as well. I didn't even sleep in church, which i usually do.
I've been hoping to hear from
jargonic_ash on her results and everything. I heard from
frickangel that the results of her a-level's were good. Now, its just whether or not she's going to college in Ireland. If I am correct about all that. She was probably as anxious as I am now. I think we've developed a good friendship/bond. *nods* I mean, we've talked about so much when I can't just sit and talk with Fricky, cuz she's so busy with school. It's really great to have friends like those two. It's also good to have
billy_rose as a friend too. They matter a lot.
Was watching the 1989 Punisher movie and spotted Lani Tupu. For those who don't know, he played Bialar Crais in Farscape. He also voiced Pilot in the same tv series. I wanna see the Halloween remake. Regardless if Zombie had anything to do with it. I didn't like his House of 1,000 Corpses or Devil's Rejects. No plot, what so ever. From what I could tell, at lest.
Finishing up an episode of "The Kill Point" which has been an interesting ride so far. A group of U.S. soldiers, who recently returned home from serving in Iraq, band together to pull off a major bank heist.
Anyway, I'm still contemplating my educational future. My gf says she'll support anything I decide to do. That really makes me feel so much better. No pressure on me. I love her for it. I couldn't ask for anyone better. I'm weighing the pros and cons of both college and the home-study books for computer repair.
*deep breaths*
Perhaps a little meditation would help.

Sleeping Days, Sleepless Nights
Aug. 12th, 2007 | 09:10 pm
mood:
sleepy
I'm so friggin' tired. I have not been sleeping well at all these past few. . . days, weeks. . . I forget. Usually I go to sleep about midnight-ish and wake up multiple times in the night. Every few hours it seems. I was hoping to sleep a lot more during the weekend, but that didn't work out. Got up at 8am on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. OF course, waking up about every two hours. I hate it!
Highlight of my morning was breakfast. Waffles, bacon and orange juice. *drools* Dinner was grilled barbeque chicken. It's a wonder I'm not fat, really.
Seems to have been some kind of Harrison Ford Weekend for the most part. Air Force One, Clear and Present Danger, Patriot Games, Witness, you name it. I enjoy his films. I'm a bit unsure about him getting back into the saddle as Indiana Jones though. We'll have to see.
Currently, I am watching The Kill Point. It's interesting. It's on Spike. Stars Donnie Wahlberg, John Leguizamo, Tobin Bell, and some others. I'm still unsure if its a tv or mini- series. Leguizamo's character robs a bank, then is forced to take hostages when police arrive. Wahlberg's character is a cop on the negotiations trying to get everyone out.
Watched Rush Hour 3. Had some funny parts. Hot Asians. Was pretty good, in my opinion, but not the best. I still think the second was best. *shrugs*
I hope I get more sleep than normal tonight. Late at night, I usually just fall asleep. Half the time I don't realize it until I wake up. Can't sleep when I'm in bed, but when I'm just sitting here, watching something or on the computer, I just. . . . *insert snore*
Yeah. so, to keep myself occupied, I'm working on Chapter one of Retreat #2: Secrets. I realize how bad the first draft of the first story was, so I actually put much more effort into descriptions, character thoughts, etc. And still, Retreat #1 is undergoing its beta. I believe Chapter One is finished, for good. That's just me, though. I'm just listening to the advice of my lovely beta,

I guess I'll go back to work on the second story in the Retreat 'verse. I'm enjoying the writing and the creating my own world and the. . . characters are fun. Ironically, I see myself and my girlfriend in the two main characters. The male lead is just witty and has the pop culture references for everything. And the female lead is just stern and kind of the opposite of him. Though, my girlfriend can be that way, she's also similar to me. *shrugs* I never made that connection until the recent conversation between the male and female leads during the first chapter of Retreat #2.
Life imitates art? Or Art imitates life?

What to put on my tombstone. . . ?

sleepy
music: Die Hard with a Vengeance
Well, where do I start? Hmm. . . I have a way I react to things. I run several RPGs, and on one such group, I have had a member not posting for quite some time. My big mouth and me being an idiot is a bad combination. So, I'm gonna do my best to not be an idiot. But it is so hard to do since I like adding in my two cents. Then again, I was in charge of the place. Well, three of us are. One did her part to talk to the gal. The nice messages didn't work. And I went all rude and Rodney McKay on her. . . some know how that is. For all those I upset, all I can do is apologize and hope that you forgive my stupidity.
So, for those who want to kill me remember to put something cool on my tombstone like: "Yippy-ky-ay, mother. . ." Ya'll know the rest. *nods*
Maybe I have watched too much Die Hard for one day. Watched the Trilogy when I snatched it up at Wal-Mart. Also bought the final movie to the 8 Movies to Die For, "Abandoned." I have yet to watch it through. I tried, but between packing and watching, I got confused. My room is done. We will be moving my room and my brother's room Tuesday night, I believe, so I doubt somehow I'll be online. Then Wednesday, we're going to move all day. Work be damned, I guess. Well, we're working on Sunday, I think. I hope not all day, that'd suck ass.
Watched Curse of the Golden Flower with
billy_rose, it was decent. Lots of Asian beauties, lots of blood, lots and lots of gold and yellow flowers. -_- For anyone who has seen it, or for anyone who hasn't and might. . . the ending sucked. Actually, it wasn't too bad. not what one would expect.
I miss Jo. But she's so busy, so I completely understand her absence. I've talked a little with her friend
jargonic_ash. (What's jargonic mean anyway?) She seems like a great person. She's nice, despite what she may want one think. =P Same with pretty miss Jo. =D
I think that updates everything.

Keeping My Sanity
Jul. 6th, 2007 | 11:25 pm
mood:
groggy
Well, with Stargate Atlantis gone until September, I think -- I forget. -- I'm quite bored now. Yesterday was an ALL DAY marathon of Dead Like Me. I have been dying (pun intended -cheesy I know, but =P) I got to watch several hours of it, I liked it. Now, I must find those on DVD. However, it doesn't come on often enough, imo. So, in my time of need, two of my favorite shows are coming back for all new seasons: Eureka and Psych. WOO! And Eureka was just released (one week prior to its second season premiere) on DVD. I can't find it anywhere, and can't order it due to the fact that my credit card is maxed out because of my tablet. *ahem* And Psych is coming to DVD soon too. So, Eureka S2 premiere is Tuesday night at 9/8c on SciFi. And Psych returns Friday the 13th at 10/9c. So, hopefully those shall keep occupied until the new season of SGA.
In further news, Tuesday at 3pm, we'll be closing the deal on our new house. Wednesday, we'll probably be moving, I hope. I really don't feel like having to work all day and then move shit at night. That just makes for a tired Chris, which in turn gets me moody. Then again, its so hard to tell because I'm sooooo sarcastic and snarky. People must really hate me when act like that, but they deserve it, damn it! RULE: Ask a stupid question, get a smartass answer. *grins* Like someone instant messaged me earlier.
Friend: "I see you're home."
Me: *blank stare at my computer screen* "What gave it away?"
Honestly. . . and I don't think they bothered to ask me how I was doing. *rubs chin* some friend.
OH! AND THEN! I was stood up on my date. Well, not really a date, but I was still looking forward to it, because she likes to comment on everything that goes on in a movie while we watch, so she gets hilarious at moments.
billy_rose and I were supposed to watch Curse of the Golden Flower tonight. She was off at the horse races becoming a gambling addict. *shakes head* I guess that's better than her becoming a crack addict, eh? We've watched lotsa things together. I know we've watched Serenity and Casino Royale. It's fun to get with an online friend, pop in the same movie, and chat about it. Passes the time. Ya'll should try it sometime. . . as long as you don't get stood up! =P
